If you’ve been reading my posts for any amount of time, you know the importance I’ve put on making sure that you’ve set your expectations and then communicated those expectations to your teammates so they are aware. It’s very hard for anyone to meet your expectations if you haven’t made them aware…lesson I learned as a young lieutenant.

Now is the next challenge, write down those same expectations and ask and/or rate yourself on how you meet those expectations. Would your coworkers agree with your assessment? If your answer is “no” or “could use improvement”…that’s okay, now you know. Now, come up with a way to fix it. Realize that it is difficult to hold people accountable for our expectations if we can’t meet them ourselves. Have a great day!
