It has been over 5 years since I have retired from the Air Force. My new career has me working behind the scenes in IT for other branches of the service and various other DoD organizations and my fingers have been removed from the pulse of the Air Force and all service members who are boots on the ground. Almost all of my interactions with those still serving come in the way of questions on how to get into Project Management and how to set themselves up after their service ends. I truly enjoy and love helping others in this way, especially if I can help them avoid the pitfalls I fell into.
If I were to continue talking about being successful in the Air Force which was the genesis of this site, I would consider myself a fraud, hence the click-bait nature for the title of this post. Therefore, I am writing this to say I will be less focussed on military-specific content and more focussed on developing those skills and abilities I am continuing to develop myself. There are going to be articles about leadership development, Project Management, Servant Leadership, and I even had some requests to do one on passive income strategies. I know I don’t need anyone’s permission to switch things up, but I sincerely respect those who read and it felt like a slight to not address this before moving forward.
A few changes:
1) I will not be posting on Facebook anymore after this post, I am not personally active on there anymore. All posts will be here and LinkedIn. You can join on LinkedIn or add your email to the subscription area at the bottom of the HOME PAGE to get an email when each new article is posted.
2) I am experimenting with YouTube since many people prefer videos to written articles. The channel is a bit lame at the moment since I have no clue what I am doing…just saying. If you have any skills with turning articles into videos, I am all ears…please let me know. 3) There are so many amazing leaders on here who are able to share their knowledge to mentor others as well. I have been wanting to create some type of community where this could happen and I a LinkedIn Group is a great way to do this: https://www.linkedin.com/groups/14410922/ since this is the only social media I pay attention to and a more professional environment than the other outlets out there…AND each one of you should have or create a LinkedIn to help you in future endeavors.
